This Friday's Meeting

 
This Friday our speaker will be Larry Bradley.  Larry is an advocate of Election Reform and his presentation is non-partisan.  Larry is a native of Missouri.  He has his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Missouri State University and an MBA in Management from the University of Tennessee. 
 
Larry's passion for the future well-being of the country caused him to found The Center Strikes Back, write Neither Liberal Nor Conservative Be and create the DVD Program Why The Two Party System Isn’t Working Anymore: And What to Do About It
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

 

Lenexa Art Fair

 
THANK YOU to Jason Leib and everyone who came out to work our booth at the Lenexa Art Fair last Saturday.  After an afternoon of selling beer and wine, we netted $1,200!
 
 

 

 

 

 


Lenexa Chamber Business Blast

 
Lenexa Rotary will once again have a booth at the Lenexa Chamber Business Blast to promote our club and attract possible members.  Matt Janes is the chairperson for this event but will be out of the country that day.  He is looking for 2 volunteers to work the booth to recruit for our club
 
The date is Thursday, June 9th from 4-7 p.m.  Please contact Matt Janes if you can work the booth.
 
Business Blast and Taste of the Chamber is moving to OLD TOWN LENEXA!  Join us outside under the big top for LENEXA'S PREMIER BUSINESS NETWORKING EVENT OF THE YEAR!

NO ENTRY FEE!  Enjoy delicious food by member restaurants & caterers, awesome exhibitor booths, drinks in the Blast Beer & Wine Garden.  Pre-registered Chamber members will receive 2 complimentary drink tickets.  Guests and walk-ins may support Chamber programs with their purchase of beer and wine.  (Sodas & water complimentary). 

Complimentary parking at the Lenexa United Methodist Church, 9138 Caenen Lake Road and the Lenexa Community Center, 13420 Oak Street.

COST:  $25 for guests of Lenexa Rotarians.  The cost for Lenexa Rotarians is included in your annual dues.

Buffet-style servings available of Gyro Meat, Chicken Shawarma, Salad, Pita Bread and the best Hummus in the midwest!

Speaker - Donna Zimmerman with Special Olympics Kansas, which included a very moving story about athlete Chevi Peters. At his lowest point, Chevi was contemplating ending his life, despite having survived 38 major surgeries. He told coach John Lair he wanted to be a powerlifter--7 years later he won three gold medals at the Special Olympics World Games.

There is a way to access security to buzz yourself in if Don Simmons is not present. 
Read the instructions, and then access Security by arrowing up to the S’s, stop when on “Security” --  press the call button and Security will buzz you in after you state your name plus saying you are a Lenexa Rotarian.

Food service line opens at 11:45 a.m.  For those who have business pressure they can arrive at 11:40 a.m. starting with salad, eat at 11:45 a.m. and be gone by 11:50 a.m. and still record for attendance.  As you leave, be sure to check with the Secretary to ensure your attendance is recorded.
