Rotary Matters
"Throw In The Towel" Campaign

Bring in your towels!  A few weeks ago, Tam Singer from Great Plains SPCA spoke to our club and mentioned that they are always in need of donated towels.  This gave our Sergeant-At-Arms Fred Spears an idea!

Sergeant-At-Arms, Fred Spears has started a "Throw in the Towel" campaign to have our members and friends bring in their used towels for the month of April.  Fred will then contact Tam Singer at Great Plains SPCA and hopefully be able to give her a huge amount of towels.

So . . . bring in your towels!  If you can't bring them to the meeting, please contact Fred Spears
Possible move to Lakeview

President-Elect, Bill McCollum has met with the catering manager at Lakeview Village.  We have been given the opportunity based on the Board's recommendation to move back to Lakeview Village starting on July 12, 2024.  The meal cost would not exceed $20
PolioPlus Society

Last year, District 5710 established a PolioPlus Society.  This is where Rotarians pledge to give at least $100 per year to Rotary International PolioPlus.  To become a member all you need to do is complete the PoioPlus Society pledge form.  As a member of the Society you pledge to donate a minimum of $100 each year until the world is certified polio free by the World Health Organization.

To become a member of the PolioPlus Society, polease contact Matt Janes, the Lenexa Rotary PolioPlus Chair, to get a pledge form.

Peace Poles

2024 Peace Poles Project
Important Dates for Volunteer Opportunities

The jury approved 40 Peace Pole submissions.  The renderings were spectacular with a lot of diversity of where artists took the concept.  It’s really going to be something to see.  The topography of Black Hoof will add a lot to the display and arrangement.

The recipient charity will be Project 1020 and we will be using the auction platform of 32auctions.  Susanne Neely has been awesome in every way across the board.  I can’t say enough good things about her support of Lenexa and Rotary.
