This Friday's Meeting

This Friday our speaker will be Mayor Mike Boehm.  Mike has been Mayor of Lenexa since 2003.  He is Senior Vice President at Commerce Bank, N.A. and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from the University of Kansas.  Mayor Boehm will be speaking to us about the State of the City of Lenexa.

Charter President Charlie Smith

An email was sent out this week that Lenexa Rotary Charter President Charlie Smith will be having the bottom lobe of his left lung removed on February 29th at KU Medical Center.

Pat Thomas and Charlie will be making the ShrimpFest cocktail sauce on Thursday, February 25th at 6:00 p.m. at Charlie's house.  He said they are looking for "wanna-be sauce meisters for training and the enjoyment of being creative.  The SECRET recipe goes with the second bottle of beer."  See Pat Thomas if you are interested.

President Amy Needs YOUR Help!

President Amy has ONE item left to achieve the Presidential Citation for this year – she needs 50% of the Lenexa Rotary members registered in "My Rotary" on www.rotary.org

It is VERY easy.  Could you PLEASE take 5 minutes out of your day and do this to help our Club achieve this award and recognition?

If you have any questions or need help, please contact President Amy at amy@amosfamily.com

THANK YOU!

ShrimpFest 2016 - March 5th

ShrimpFest is 1 week away!  Sell those tickets and turn in your money!  There is a link on our club website -- www.lenexarotary.org -- in which people can purchase tickets by credit card.

Desserts - Each Member is required to bring at least two (2) desserts for the dessert table. They can be dropped off at the Lenexa Community Center on Saturday morning or afternoon. Cakes and pies are suggested, however cookies and brownies are also acceptable.  A sign-up sheet will be going around at Friday's meeting.

Silent Auction Items - PLEASE get any silent auction items to Moe Cougher or Fred Spears ASAP!

Elisa Zöhrer Photography

At last week's meeting, our Austrian Exchange Student, Elisa Zöhrer, announced that she is selling photographs that she took at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park over the holidays.  She is raising money to help fund her trip to New York City in March and her trip around the U.S. in July.

She has six (6) photographs available for purchase.  Sizes available are 4 X 6, 5 X 7, 8 X 10 and 11 X 17.  The cost for the photographs:  a donation to her trip -- no set cost.  An email was sent to all the members this week showing all 6 photographs.

If you would like it framed, she will charge you what she pays for framing -- which she thinks will be approximately $20.

If you are interested in seeing all 6 photographs or purchasing any of these beautiful photographs, please email Elisa at:  elisa.zoehrer.ez@gmail.com

Indicate in your email which photograph (they are each numbered), the size and quantity.

Elisa thanks you!

Notes from the "YPad"

Nothing on the YPad last Friday.

During the meeting if you think of some thing that you want to share, feel free to jot it down on the YPad -- a random thought, a suggestion, a compliment, an idea for a speaker, a joke, etc.  Each week President Amy will pick up the YPads and report any messages in the newsletter and at the following meeting.
