This Friday's meeting:
This Friday our speaker will be Caitlin McGrath from Horizon Academy in Roeland Park. The Mission of Horizon Academy is "To provide a caring and respectful environment for students struggling with learning disabilities, where they are given the opportunity to achieve their highest potential, become life-long learners and develop into productive, responsible citizens of their community."
Notes from the YPad
Last week we had two people write on the "YPads." One was a suggestion for an upcoming speaker and the other asked if it was possible to publish the meal menu in this weekly newsletter.
The suggestion for the speaker was contacted and is currently scheduled for September 4th and starting today the meal menu will be published in the weekly newsletter.
THANK YOU for your suggestions. Please feel free to leave any notes, comments, any random thoughts on the YPads on your table.

SM Northwest Interact to Guatemala: Lenexa Rotarians Greg Peterson and Rick Morton recently returned from Guatemala with our SM Northwest Interact Club. While they were there they built beds, cook stoves, water filters and gave eye exams to local community. See photos on the Lenexa Rotary Facebook Page or Lenexa Rotary website.
Summary of Last Week's Meeting:
Lenexa Rotarian Phil Hammond was our speaker last week. He gave a presentation about The Oregon Trail. He and his wife have explored The Oregon Trail in Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska and plan to explore more in the future. Thank you Phil for your presentation! It was very informative and interesting to find out places in the KC Metro area to visit and learn more. Additionally, Senator Jerry Moran stopped by for a make-up. He is a member of the Hays Rotary Club. He also gave us a brief update on what is happening in Washington.
