Peace Poles

Inspire peace, hope, creativity and community involvement. The Peace Poles Community Art Project is a series of 6-foot-tall wooden poles designed by community members and adorned with original art and messages of peace. The project is returning to Lenexa in 2024, and we invite community members to participate.

Residents, community groups, businesses and artists are encouraged to show their creativity and share messages of peace. All levels of artistic expertise are welcome and encouraged to participate.

Artists have until Jan. 31, 2024, to submit a sketch of their design. A jury committee will then review and invite accepted participants to decorate their pole(s) to be displayed at Black Hoof Park during summer 2024.

The Peace Poles Community Art Project was organized as a partnership between the Lenexa Rotary ClubLenexa Arts Council and the City of Lenexa.

Lenexa Rotary Foundation Chair, Ben Harber is in charge of this project.
