Our speaker on Friday will be Scott McCullough, the Community Development Director with the City of Lenexa. Scott will be giving us an update on Lenexa's Comprehensive Plan.
Well, another year has flown by and it is once again time for TEAM Training! TEAM Training focuses on The Rotary Foundation, membership, and public image, with leadership and training as supporting areas of emphasis. This year our theme will be “Imagine Change in Your Rotary Club”.
The training will take place on Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 8:30am to 1:30pm, once again at the Cider Gallery in Lawrence, Kansas. We will provide donuts and coffee when you arrive (so we hope you will arrive a bit early to eat, drink and mingle!) and a complimentary brunch, complete with mimosas and Bloody Marys, will be served.
This annual event is open to all Rotarians at no cost, and Rotarians of twenty years or those who became Rotarians last week will all benefit! Come to meet other Rotarians, share Rotary experiences, and learn more about Rotary and our opportunities to accomplish even more by implementing change. First of all . . . we are in desperate need of a Program Chair. The Program Chair is in charge of lining up speakers for our weekly meetings. If we could get 4 people to volunteer, each person can take a quarter of the year. Please seriously consider helping President Ben with weekly programs.
Additionally, we are asking the club members for ideas for speakers. If each member could think of at least one program, it would help solve this problem AND we would have great speakers. Please contact President Ben with your ideas. Email him at ben.harber@besmith.com
This last weekend Lenexa Rotary participated with HopeBUILDERS by providing a new ramp so that someone can live safe, accessible and healthy at home.
We will be building another ramp on July 30th. Please contact Ben Harber if you are interested in helping.
Since 2000, HopeBUILDERS has been helping older adults and individuals living with disabilities by providing accessibility and home repair. They envision a safe, accessible and healthy home for every Kansas Citian.
Next year's "Gold Cards" (fine cards) will go on sale this Friday. The cost is $65 for the Rotary year 2022-2023. Use this card for all of your weekly fines and also get a tax deduction.
Checks should be made payable to Lenexa Rotary Foundation and given to Fred Spears.
We are collecting egg cartons to be given to a local food pantry. They only need the 12 egg cartons, not 18.
If you have some to donate, please contact Steve Nettles. You can drop them off at his house, bring them to a meeting, or drop them off at Rimann Liquors at 87th & Lackman.
