Welcome to The Rotary Club of Lenexa!

 

The last day to bring in your cans full of money will be THIS FRIDAY, August 9th.

 

Fred Spears said that we have raised about $2,500 but we want to raise more to benefit the  KVC Health Systems to provide school supplies to some of the 10,000 local foster children.  It will provide supplies to the children that the classes require and clothing where there is a need.  You may have heard of this on KMBC Channel 9 News.

 

For every $25 contributed, a child will receive all the school supplies they need.  For $50 they will receive the school supplies and can go shopping for clothing.  

 

The Lenexa Rotary Foundation has also issued a grant for this worthy cause.

 

Lenexa Rotarians greeted Emilia (Emi) Fernanda Rodriguez Kaempfe at the airport on Tuesday.  Thank you to Ben Harber for preparing the signs to welcome her to Kansas City!

 

We have one host family and are still looking for two (2) more host families for the school year.  Please seriously consider being a host family and ask your family and friends if they would like to be a part of this wonderful experience.

We will be grilling hamburgers and selling spinach related food along with the Lenexa Historical Society

 

Phil Hammond will be sending around sign-ups

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We will be grilling about 1,000 hot dogs and giving them away to the public along with chips and water

 

Ashley Sherard will be looking for volunteers

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Our own Marshall Rimann will be performing in an upcoming play at The White Theater at the Jewish Community Center.  It is called The Tree of Life and it will run September 14-22.  CLICK HERE for more information and to purchase tickets.
