This Friday's meeting . . .

Our speaker this Friday will be David Huston.  David is a member of the Western Johnson County Rotary Club and also a member of the Kansas City Curling Club.  He will be speaking to us about this popular Olympic sport that seems to be a mystery to most people.

Member Survey

Last week President Amy emailed an electronic a Member Survey to all Lenexa Rotarians.  This survey is to get your ideas and comments regarding our Club.  The survey is annonymous, so feel free to give your honest opinion.  We would like to have 100% participation so please complete the survey by October 25th.  Thank you to Ashley Sherard for allowing the Club to use her Survey Monkey account.

Streamway Clean-up -- THIS Saturday!

This Saturday, October 24th is our next Adopt-A-Spot Streamway Cleanup from 8:00-9:30 a.m.  We will meet at the same place on the NE corner of 83rd & Lackman Road at the Oak Hill pool.

If there is significant rainfall Friday into Saturday, Jason Leib will email by 7:30am if we need to reschedule.

Supplies including trash pickers, gloves, and trash bags will be provided. Wear old clothes and shoes.

The city requires that each participant sign a waiver each calendar year, so unless you participated at our previous cleanups, I will need to have you sign again this time. Jason will have the form with him Saturday morning.

Jason sent out an email this week where you could "Accept" or "Decline."  You can reply that way or if you want to help, put your name on the YPad this Friday.

KMBZ Coats for Kids

Nov. 2 - Dec. 4

KMBZ's Coats for Kids is a community outreach campaign to collect new and used coats for Kansas City area children in need.  Community partners include Pride Cleaners, Arrow Fabricare and Excel Lenin Supply, who clean every used coat.  Two Men and A Truck provides trucks and drivers, delivering coats to kids at the Johnson County Christmas Bureau, and school districts on both sides of the state line.  A significant cash donation from Honeywell of Kansas City is matched by KMBZ listeners during the final two weeks of the program to purchase new coats.  Lenexa Rotary along with other Johnson County Rotary clubs will help at pick-up sites and help sort coats.  The Lenexa Rotary Foundation has agreed to let the cash donations run through its account as a 501(c)3 organization.  More information will be coming regarding times to sign-up and help.
