Data is my vocation; slicing, dicing, serving it up in a hot and tasty dashboard, or slinging it like hash browns in a greasy spoon diner.  I am employed by Americo Life and Financial as Senior Manager, BI and Integration which is harder to say than it should be

Security Manager. I was terrible at it (I got better.)  An odd coincidence is that every company that has hired me as an FTE has been sold, most of them twice. My current company has been around for over a century and the owners do not want to go public or sell, so I’m hoping they break my streak.

When I die, I hope the word “raconteur” gets used a lot. My favorite pastime is telling stories. I also enjoy gaming on tabletop or computer.

I grew up in what was Zaïre and is now the Congo, again. I lived in a city of more than a million people on the haut plateau of the Great African Rift. I’ve been asked for 40 years what it was like and the only short answer I have found is: “Whatever you can imagine, my life was not like that.”

My favorite movie to show people is The Sting (1973), directed by George Roy Hill and starring Paul Newman, Robert Redford and Robert Shaw. If you have not seen it, do yourself a favor and don’t look anything up; the surprise is worth it. Also, let me know and I’ll invite you over just to watch you watch it for the first time.
