Need to become trained or refresh your volunteer training on Lenexa Rotary's Fire Safety Trailer?
The Lenexa Fire Department will be taking the Trailer to a public education event on Saturday, August 19th from 12-1:30 p.m. at The Worship Center of KC, 14900 W. 106th Street, in Lenexa. They are expecting about 600 people. The Center's goals for the event are to give back to the community and have a community fun day -- there will be a school supply and backpack give-away, attractions on site for the kids -- including a fire truck and the trailer -- food, etc.
The Fire Department says any Rotarian wishing to refresh their Safety Trailer skills or learn anew is welcome to attend -- so if working with the Trailer is something you are interested in learning more about, this is the perfect opportunity!
Lenexa Rotarians will be volunteering with the Trailer at Lenexa elementary schools again this Fall and always need more volunteers, so PLEASE consider checking it out -- it's easy, doesn't take much time, it's loads of fun, and you will probably learn something you didn't know!
If you are interested, please email Ashley Sherard at asherard@lenexa.org so she can coordinate with the Lenexa Fire Department.
Bring in your beer can's filled with money -- coins, bills or a check - and give to Sergeant-At-Arms, Fred Spears.
Money raised will be used to have a Lenexa Rotary meal packaging event for Rise Against Hunger (formerly known as Stop Hunger Now). This event is done in conjunction with the Shawnee Mission Northwest Interact Club.

Our outbound Youth Exchange Student, Kayla Craigmile, at KCI headed for her exchange year in Spain. Seeing her off are Lenexa Rotarians, Greg Peterson, Steve Nettles and Lenet Compton.
