Our speaker this Friday will be Mayor Julie Sayers. Mayor Sayers was elected mayor in November 2023. Prior to that, she served as a Ward 4 council member from 2019–2023.

Julie is an owner and principal of a commercial furniture dealership called encompas. She grew up in Topeka, Kansas, and earned a bachelor’s degree in interior design from the University of Kansas.

SMNW Interact Project-10/18

Shawnee Mission Northwest Interact Club is having a fundraiser. They have helped us A LOT during this past month. It would be nice to help them out too! Contact Phil Hammond to volunteer.

Wes Fry 4 Way Test Speech Contest

It is that time of year again . . . looking for Johnson County high school students to enter our Wes Fry 4 Way Test Speech Scholarship Contest. Please promote this to any Johnson County high school students you know. Pass along the information below and have them scan the QR code for further information. See Matt Janes with questions.

Peace Pole-Upcoming Dates

November 4 (4-5:30pm at Parks Service Center) – Artists return touched-up poles

November 15 (evening event) – Live auction event at Lenexa City Hall Art Gallery. Online auction will take place prior to live event. Details to come. Volunteers needed

Tree plaque for Lenexa Rotarian

In the past Lenexa Rotary has planted 66 Trees and Honored 6 past Lenexa Rotarians in Clear Creek Park: Charles Smith, Tom Sherard, Alan Uhl, Gene Amos, David Huff and Dennis Moore.

The Board has approved to add Wes Fry to the Walk of Lenexa Rotarians.

As in the past, we raised $470.00 from our members. Phil Hammond will be collecting the donations and arranging the tree and plaque. To donate please give your money to Phil Hammond.

Thank you to everyone who helped build wheelchair ramp for a disabled United States Navy veteran - Lenexa Rotarians, Shawnee Mission Northwest Interact Club and Shawnee Rotary.
