This Friday's meeting . . .

Our speaker Friday will be Craig Jorgenson talking about The First Tee of Greater Kansas City. The First Tee of Greater Kansas City is a youth development organization teaching young people positive values such as honesty, integrity, sportsmanship and confidence while using the game of golf as a tool. The First Tee lessons are taught at five area learning centers and through in-school programs.

What a night! We had 90 volunteers and packaged 16,000 meals in 1 1/2 hours!!! THANK YOU to the Lenexa Rotarians and their spouses who helped. The Shawnee Mission Northwest Interact Club was represented in full force. This is a perfect project for working along side the Interact members and also help feed the world.

There is a way to access security to buzz yourself in if Don Simmons is not present.

Read the instructions, and then access Security by arrowing up to the S’s, stop when on “Security” -- press the call button and Security will buzz you in after you state your name plus saying you are a Lenexa Rotarian.

During the meeting if you think of some thing that you want to share, feel free to jot it down on the YPad -- a random thought, a suggestion, a compliment, an idea for a speaker, a joke, etc. Each week President Amy will pick up the YPads and report any messages in the newsletter and at the following meeting.

Summary of Last Week's Meeting:

Last Friday Sean Casserley, the Johnson County Librarian presented to us what is new with the Johnson County Library. The Central Resource Library reopened last week, the Lackman Library will be relocating to Lenexa City Center, there will be a new library built in western Shawnee on Monticello, and there will possibly be expansion at the Blue Valley Library. Lots of new and exciting things going on at the Johnson County Library!
