Woodland Public Charity is having its annual banquet on November 13, 2019, at the Holiday Inn on 87th Street & US 69 Hwy at 6:00 p.m.  Because of our working relationship with Woodland and our friend Jorge Coromac, it would be nice to have our Club well represented.

Lenexa Rotary is working the Holiday Shop THIS FRIDAY at NOON.  The Holiday Shop is located in the old Best Buy building at 119th & Strang Line.  Come to eat at Lakeview before going to work.  The buffet will open at 11:15 am.

Do you have a sack of family photos somewhere at home?  At least you think the sack contains family photos.  You aren't 100% sure because no one wrote names on the back.  That is what Bottle #2 gathering was like.  We went through our club historical information as found on our club website (yes, there is information there).  Much we recognized.  Jerry and Sammie regaled us with funny fill-in-the blank tidbits on several items.  Then there were those "family photo" items that none of us knew anything about.  Therefore, I could use a few club historians willing to go through the information and provide explanatory content.  Another question is how long should we list projects we no longer participate in?  I'd love to hear your thoughts and get your help with updates.

Lenexa Rotary, Ambassador Rotary and SMNW Interact has done it again with the help of other Rotary Clubs, Girl Scouts and Kohls. 150 Volunteers packaged in one hour 16,500 meals for Rise Against Hunger at SMNW. Over the years we have raised all the funds to purchase and package over 120,000 meals. Those meals have gone to schools for the students in Guatemala, Nepal, Panama, Vietnam, Haiti and Honduras. When a member misses a meeting, there are several ways to make up for the absence:

Rotarians can make up for an absence at their club meeting within the same Rotary year.  If a member attempts to make up at another club and that club either did not meet that week, or changed venues, the club member can let their club's secretary know the date and time of the attempted make-up and it will count as a makeup toward a missed meetings.  Make ups also qualify if you attend an eClub meeting.   Send all make-ups to our club secretary, Bill McCollum via email.
