Our speaker this Friday will be Stacie Schirk, the Senior Community Engagement Manager for Habitat for Humanity Kansas City.

Since it's founding in 1979 by John and Mary Pritchard, Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City has pursued a vision of a community where everyone has a safe, decent and affordable place to call home.

What began with three homes in the Boston Heights/Mount Hope neighborhood has grown into the largest Kansas City nonprofit home builder in the region — serving Wyandotte, Leavenworth, and Johnson counties in Kansas, and Clay, Platte, and Jackson counties in Missouri.

Each year, they partner with more than 1,000 families to help them achieve their dream of affordable housing.

ShrimpFest Recap

ShrimpFest 2026 is in the books!  THANK YOU to our Chair, Kevin Day, for his organization of this year's event and a BIG thank you to EVERYONE including the Shawnee Mission Northwest Interact, who helped in every way to make our 35th year a success!  We don't have any numbers yet, but will pass that along that information when everything is sorted out.

DGE Oscar Rivera
At our luncheon meeting last Friday, our honored guest and speaker was Oscar Rivera, District Governor-Elect from Mexico City District 4170. Our club and Interact students from Shawnee Mission NW High School have participated and partnered in multiple clean water projects with DGE Oscar's club in Mexico. DGE Oscar was in Lenexa to say "thanks" and to attend our almost world famous "ShrimpFest" fundraiser on Saturday night.

The event series will take place at Lenexa City Center, a vibrant 200-acre hub, conveniently located along Interstate 435 and sitting within a few miles of where I-35, I-435, U.S. 69, K-10 and K-7 meet. This exciting and walkable neighborhood combines shopping, restaurants, entertainment venues, offices, living options and hotels.

Our own Marshall Rimann will be starring in the play - The Minutes

Olathe Civic Theatre
500 E. Loula Street
March 27 - April 12, 2026

Beneath the deadpan back-and-forth of a seemingly typical city council board meeting lies the whiff of something distinctly sinister in Tracy Letts's new play The Minutes. Known for his keen ability to illustrate the faults and cracks under humanity's surface, Letts delivers an acutely thrilling new work that pulls you in with laughter before grabbing you by the throat.

March 27, 28, April 3, 4, 10, 11 @ 7:30PM

March 29, April 5, 12 @ 2:00PM
