Our speaker this Friday will be Phil Hammond. He will be speaking to us about Adam Legler - Businessman, Farmer, School Director who had his farm on the Santa Fe Trail.
The Mayor of Lenexa will sign a proclamation at the September 3rd Lenexa City Council meeting to proclaim September 21, 2024, as the International Day of Peace. Proclamations are presented at the beginning of the meeting, which starts at 7:00pm. Please feel free to join Ben Harber and other representatives of the Club present to accept the proclamation.
Our club has been a long-term supporter of the Happy Bottoms Diaper Bank, both financially and by volunteering. On Friday, September 20, our meeting program speaker will be Elizabeth Mayer, Co-Executive Director of Happy Bottoms. After our meeting, club volunteers will re-convene at the Happy Bottoms warehouse headquarters for a 2 hour session of counting and wrapping diapers. This is easy work and a fun group exercise, and we'll be done before 4 PM.
