This Friday's meeting . . .

Unfortunately our special Valentine's program canceled.  Evelyn Hornaday, Program Chair, hopes to reschedule them in March.

However, she was able to secure a wonderful speaker instead.  United States Coast Guard Lt. Commander (Retired) Dennis Branson will be presenting a program of "Immortal Shipmates" -- The Sinking and Rescue of U.S.A.T. Dorchester.  The story of the Four Chaplains and sking of the U. S. Army Transport Ship Dorchester was an incredible moment in World War II history.

Lakeview Northpointe Building Access

There is a way to access security to buzz yourself in if Don Simmons is not present.
Read the instructions, and then access Security by arrowing up to the S’s, stop when on “Security” --  press the call button and Security will buzz you in after you state your name plus saying you are a Lenexa Rotarian.

95th Street, I-35 Exchange to be CLOSED

Motorists who use the I-35 and 95th Street interchangeneed to find an alternate route beginning late Feb. 21.  [map of road closures]

The interchange will close for six month on Feb. 21 and reopen in mid-August, weather permitting. Construction crews are rebuilding the interchange into a diverging diamond configuration, similar to the design at the Roe Avenue and I-435.
All ramps at 95th Street and from I-35 will be closed, as well as 95th Street from Noland Road east to Monrovia Street.
After the interchange reopens in August, there may still be temporary closures as finishing work is done through November.
This reconstruction work is part of the Kansas Department of Transportation's Johnson County Gateway Phase 2 Project to improve the I-435/I-35/K-10 interchange.

Thank you to Overland Park Councilman and Lenexa Rotary Sargeant-at-Arms, Fred Spears for passing along this information to the Club.

Notes from the "YPad"

Last week on the YPad was another suggestion for a speaker.  It has been forwarded to Evelyn Hornaday.  Thank you for the suggestion!  Keep the suggestions coming!

During the meeting if you think of some thing that you want to share, feel free to jot it down on the YPad -- a random thought, a suggestion, a compliment, an idea for a speaker, a joke, etc.  Each week President Amy will pick up the YPads and report any messages in the newsletter and at the following meeting.
