Donate to The Rotary Foundation
The end of the Rotary year is June 30th. Lenexa Rotary has been recognized as a "Star Club" for the past several years. To become a Star Club, our club needs to average a donation of $100 per member to The Rotary Foundation. Members that want to make their annual $100 contribution to The Rotary Foundation can do so by either giving a check to Phil Hammond at our meetings or donate online at www.rotary.org. Phil will bring an updated list of where each member stands as to their next level of Paul Harris Fellow.
Lenexa Rotary Receives RI Presidential Citation
Lenexa Rotary was recognized as achieving the Rotary International Presidential Citation. There were only three clubs in District 5710 who received this award.
Each year the President of Rotary International sets specific standards for local clubs to achieve to receive this award. This year the requirements were:
Membership development & retention - Grow by at least one member. Lenexa Rotary has grown by 4 members this year!
Foundation giving - Club members donate to The Rotary Foundation.
Online tool adoption - Setting goals and reporting detailed club activities online.
Humanitarian service - Lenexa Rotary formed the Lenexa Rotary Community Corp for volunteers to support Lenexa Rotary; have a hands-on project with 75% club participation (ShrimpFest); establish a partnership with a corporate entity; and do a joint project with 5 other Rotary clubs (Coats for Kids)
New Generations - sponsor an Interact Club (Shawnee Mission Northwest); send students to RYLA (we are sending 4 students); participate in Rotary Youth Exchange (we hosted one inbound student and sent two students outbound to Italy and Austria)
Public Image - Update club website and social media; and update newsletter
CONGRATULATIONS to Lenexa Rotary for achieving this recognition. It takes the ENTIRE club to accomplish this!
