Success!!  The Warm-Kit Project Grant is complete!

Rotarians from Shawnee Mission & Lenexa started set-up about 4:15p last week, and as others began to arrive, the Assembly Line was ready to go by 6pm. They began with a briefing of instructions, and by 6:05-ish, about 20-25 Rotarians (yes! Fantastic turn out) walked the Assembly Line filling duffel bags with warm clothes, health items, and lots of warm Rotarian caring-thoughts for the recipients of these “Warm Kits”.  By 6:20pm, we were DONE with assembly of 55 kits & sorting them by sizes for Rended Heart & Veronica’s Voice!!  Awesome job by all our Rotarians.

Denise Lester loaded up her 32 Kits, along with a large box of “extra items” left after filling duffels, and off into the snowy night bound for Rended Heart.  They also prepared the 23 Kits for Veronica’s Voice.

All in all, this was a healthy effort, which began at the Kit assembly in Topeka in December, when supplies were loaded and taken to Kansas City, and then subsequently purchased more items to ‘fill-in our supply numbers’. This was such a worthwhile endeavor for all Rotarians, and obviously, especially for the future recipients of the Kits. This was a wonderful activity to work with a lot of Rotarians!
