Our club has another amazing opportunity to partner with the Leawood Rotary Club to fight human trafficking.  Unlike our local anti-human trafficking conference this past March, we have been offered an opportunity to participate a one-year, pilot group effort to start a Global Swarm to End Human Trafficking.  That may sound exciting to you or overwhelming!  Either way, join for an informational Zoom meeting Friday, November 20, at 3:30PM to hear the nuts and bolts.  There is no obligation for listening.

This proposed pilot project could transform Rotary into the key enabler of global efforts to dismantle human trafficking and identify and provide services to all victims.  Rotary is uniquely positioned to help due to our global structure of volunteers.  We are the world’s largest service organization with 1.2 million members.  Ending human trafficking is emerging as the top Rotary priority as its successful campaign to end polio winds to a conclusion.

Partnered with the highly (and internationally) networked Minnesota Rotary End Human Trafficking effort, the training team will focus on teaching and coaching us to emerge capable of training our neighboring Rotary clubs and global partners on how to build and implement counter human trafficking capacity.  The pilot is one year and will be accomplished virtually at no more than four (4) hours a month.

The project has the full support of our District leaders.  The intention is to also apply for a Rotary Global Grant.
