Jerry Henson, a family man and community leader from Parkville, Missouri, passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 25, 1941, in Jackson, Missouri, he was married to Sammie for 60 years and was a proud father and grandfather. His life was marked by a passion for service, education, and family.
- Early Life and Family: Jerry was born to Robert and Hazel Henson and was raised in a loving home. He married Sammie Statler in 1964 and together they raised two daughters, Sindie and Merry, and welcomed three grandchildren.
- Career and Community Service: After serving in the Army from 1964 to 1966, Jerry earned degrees in business and an MBA, leading to a successful career in human resources. He was an active member of Rotary International for 51 years and volunteered extensively in various community programs.
- Personal Interests: Jerry had a lifelong passion for coin collecting. He also enjoyed games, travel, and outdoor.
- Services: A celebration of Jerry's life will be held at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, Missouri, on Saturday, March 22, with a visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial at Russell Heights Cemetery with full Military Honors. Another memorial service and celebration of life will be held in the Kansas City area later this spring.
