- Plan to arrive 15 min before your shift so you can review what the firefighters would like you to do. Remember, 3rd graders receive fire safety instruction (generally you’ll re-set the fire hazards the kids have corrected in each room, answer a mock 911 call (script provided), while 5th graders receive storm safety instruction.
